The success of Pickleball professional competitions in 2024 is excellent, and the global expansion is expected in 2025

Dallas, Texas, December 19, 2024 - The 2024 professional Pickleball season will be remembered as a peak year, laying the foundation for continued growth and success in the coming years. Starting from the watershed merger of the two top pickleball entities, the American Professional Pickleball League and the Carvana PPA Tour, this season witnessed the top stars of the sport shining brightly on the court and making big bucks off the court, with fans flocking to professional events to watch the games.

In 2024, over 320,000 fans attended PPA Tour and MLP events, a 40% increase from 2023, and it was the first year that ticket sales revenue exceeded amateur registration revenue. Additionally, over 27,000 players of different ages and levels participated in amateur championships of the PPA Tour and some MLP events. In terms of broadcasting, MLP and PPA Tour had over 350 hours of national television coverage on channels such as Fox, CBS, ESPN, ESPN2, Amazon Prime, Tennis Channel, FS1, FS2, and CBS Sports Network in 2024. Moreover, the 24/7 pickleball streaming platform, PickleballTV, had over 1 billion minutes of viewing time throughout the 2024 season.

Looking ahead to 2025, the sport is expected to expand globally. The Pickleball World Series will be launched in 2025, integrating dynamic competitions with international representation. PPA Asia and MLP Asia will also hold professional-level competitions in iconic venues across Asia, bringing together local talent and international stars. With the continuous growth and increasing popularity of pickleball, it is anticipated that more and more countries will embrace this sport and establish their own leagues and events, further promoting the globalization and professionalization of pickleball.
